Florence Remy is one of the few French women to have studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Saint-Petersburg. The academic teaching provided since the creation of this institution in 1757, has remained faithful to the original precepts, despite the turmoil of history.
The Academy has kept in its original state the studio where the painter Repin worked and taught his students, and it is in this unique setting that Florence Remy was able to study the fundamentals of Russian learning methods including drawing, painting, anatomy, preparation of work materials, history of art and techniques.
During her stay she was asked to give a master-class at the Gallery - Museum Петербургский художник.
This stay was also an opportunity to extend meetings with renowned Petersburg artists.
