Florence Remy won the Maryino Prize at the 4th International Competition for Large Format Outdoor Painting, under the aegis of UNESCO.
This prize rewards the artist with a stay at the Maryino Palace, one of the most magnificent mansions in 19th century in Russia (1817): the Stroganov-Galitzine family estate, with neoclassical horseshoe-shaped lines, recalls, by the size of its wings, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan in St. Petersburg. It is said that only the family of the Tsars was more powerful than that of the Stroganovs.
The current owner of the premises, Galina Stepanova, and great patron of the arts, will receive Florence Remy at the Palais Maryino during a stay combining art, culture and heritage.
